Tim's Classic Auto Parts is a privately owned and operated Volkswagen parts sales, and restoration autoshop. Although, we also deal in other makes and models, Volkswagens are our specialty.
Tim's Classic Auto Parts is the brain-child of Tim Maring, a self taught automotive mechanic and autobody man.
Tim grew up in Southern Illinois, and has a love for Volkswagens since he bought his first VW truck as a teenager. After graduating high school, Tim tinkered with college and odd jobs, mostly working as a motorcycle mechanic for a company out of Carbondale, Illinois called "Cycle Tech."
Tim began to collect older model Volkswagens, and would fix them up. Some were simple mechanical jobs and others he did complete restorations. Tim continued to improve his skills as an autobody restorer in his dad's garage, until he moved to Japan in the mid 1990s. There Tim found work with the "B.B. Company Ltd." which is a Volkswagen customizing shop. He worked there for three years before returning to the states to start his own business.

Since then Tim has been working to get his business going.
A lot of work is involved getting an automotive garage off the ground, but we now have the land, facilities and equipment, and are ready to begin doing business.
Though our business is still in it's infancy, we are currently renovating our garage to handle parts sales and restoration projects. We are also in the process of organizing our inventory and boneyard.
